Veteran actor Vinod Khanna passed away on Thursday at Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital Mumbai. He breathed his last at 11.20 am.
The legendary actor was fighting advanced bladder carcinoma, the hospital statement read. He was 70.
The star started his filmy career with Mann Ke Meet, was known for fabulous work in films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Dayavan and Hera Pheri. The actor, who was born in Peshawar in 1947, stayed away from films for five years at the peak of his career and joined the ashram of Osho in Rajneeshpuram.
The iconic actor was the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) member of the Lok Sabha from Gurdaspur in Punjab. He was into his fourth term as MP from the seat.
Vinod Khanna is survived by his wife, Kavita Khanna, and four children - Rahul, Akshaye, Sakshi, and Shraddha.
