New Delhi: Rhea Kapoor, the younger daughter of Anil Kapoor and sister of Sonam Kapoor is gearing up for her next venture ‘Veera Di Shaadi’.
However, this time Sonam Kapoor will not bee seen in the lead role in sister Rhea’s directorial debut unlike her previous movies - Khoobsurat and Aisha.
And the reason behind this change is Kareena Kapoor.
As per media reports, Kareena Kapoor, post the success of ‘Ki and Ka’, is looking for meaty roles thus she refused to play the second fiddle. Thus, Sonam, reportedly, had to step down for Kareena to play the lead in this chick flick.
Sonam Kapoor is eager to watch 'Sultan', hopes it's another record-breaking by Salman
A source was quoted as saying to the leading daily,
"Rhea's chick flick, Veera Di Shaadi, however, will revolve around a big fat Punjabi wedding. The essence of the film will be about four girls on a journey from Delhi to Europe and it will culminate in Veera's wedding. Kareena loved the script and the idea of acting in a chick flick for the first time, she made sure that hers had to be the meatiest role and that the story revolves around her character. Kareena is being very choosy about her roles now."
Interestingly, the reports say that Rhea had a word with Sonam after which the things were finalized.
"It just makes the project much bigger. Rhea had to bow down to her diktat and inform Sonam, who is a sensible girl. She agreed to play the second lead," added the source,” added the source.
Besides, Sonam and Kareena, the flick also stars Swara Bhaskar and Shikha Talsania. The project is expected to go on floors in July this year.
