Vicky Kaushal's first film as solo hero, Uri: The Surgical Strike is weaving magic at the box office. The movie, directed by Aditya Dhar is based on surgical strikes of 2016 that were carried out by Indian Armed forces. Uri opened on a good note at the box office and now it is unstoppable. With every passing day, the movie has only minted more money, setting the cash registers ringing. The military drama has so far raked in Rs 78.54 crore.
Making Rs 7.60 crore on second Friday is not an easy task. Well, there were also no big releases this Friday which ultimately helped Uri. While Fraud Saiyyan and Bombariya were small releases with no buzz, Why Cheat India starring Emraan Hashmi failed to impress audience. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to write, ''#UriTheSurgicalStrike is a force to reckon with at the BO… Remains the first choice of moviegoers, eclipsing the biz of all films [new and holdover titles]… Day 8 is almost at par with Day 1… [Week 2] Fri 7.60 cr. Total: ₹ 78.54 cr. India biz. #Uri #HowsTheJosh.”
While the audience is showering love on Uri whole-heartedly, critics were divided over the film. Uri: The Surgical Strike features Vicky Kaushal, Mohit Raina, Yami Gautam, Kirti Kulhari and Paresh Rawal in pivotal roles.
Recently, the makers celebrated the success of Uri, which was also attended by Vicky's parents and girlfriend Harleen Sethi. Vicky has been in news for his relationship lately and the couple 'sort of' made it Insta official by posting a photo. In the picture, the duo is wearing black sweatshirts that has 'Hows The Josh' (a viral dialogue from Uri) imprinted on them. ''High, sir," answered Harleen in the caption for the post.
Vicky has indirectly spoken about Harleen in several chat shows and interviews. Earlier, in No Filter Neha, Vicky dedicated Diljit Dosanjh's hit song, ''Do You Know Main Tenu Kinna Pyar Karda'' to Harleen.
