New Delhi: The much anticipates movie of 2016 ‘Udta Punjab’ is doing amazing business at the box office.
Abhishek Choubey’s directorial, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt and Diljit Dosanjh, is getting rave views from the audience.
And now the movie has got the 5th highest opening weekend collection of 2016 with a collection of Rs. 33.80 cr.
This despite the fact that movie was leaked online a day before its scheduled release on last Friday. It seems that audience has said no to piracy and bought ticket to watch the movie.
Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh, tweeted the detailed weekend collection of ‘Udta Punjab’.

‘Udta Punjab’ also became the 5th highest opener of 2016 with a collection of Rs. 10.05 crore on its first day.
The movie deals with the sensitive issue of growing substance abuse among youth in India and was hit with several controversies before its release. However, looks like the controversies have worked in the favour of the film and the movie is going strong at the box-office.
