New Delhi: It’s been a while the reports of ‘Udta Punjab’ being banned by the censor board are doing the rounds.
While the Abhishek Chaubey’s directorial is one of the most anticipated movies of the year, the buzz of it getting grounded indeed raised a lot of eyebrows.
Although, producer Anurag Kashyap did clarify that ‘Udta Punjab’ is not banned, reports are rife that the censor board has asked for as many as 40 cuts.
But now Alia Bhatt, who is one of the lead actress in the movie, has reacted to the censor board controversy surrounding ‘Udta Punjab’ and stated that revising process by the committee is on.
“All I want to say is Anurag Kashyap put out a tweet of all the information that is true and that is related to the topic right now. There was nothing mentioned about the cuts (in the tweet), it was just that the film has moved on to the revising committee and the due process is on. Apart from that, it will be wrong for me to say anything because this is actually what has happened. Let’s wait and watch, hopefully everyone will be happy,” Alia told an entertainment portal.
‘Udta Punjab’ also stars Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Diljit Dosanjh in key roles. The movie is scheduled to release on June 17.
