New Delhi: Despite seeing a flurry of releases this Friday, it was last week’s release ‘Udta Punjab’ which attracted cine buffs to theatres. This week’s movies ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ and ‘Junooniyat’, recorded disastrous first days.
While the Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Vicky Kaushal starrer earned Rs 1.10 crore, the love story of Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam minted less than Rs 1 crore on the opening day.
This is what trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted about the movies:

Comparatively, ‘Udta Punjab’ earned more as it raked Rs 1.40 crores, but the collections saw a dratic fall. Adding the collections of Friday, the grand total of this multi starrer stands at Rs 49.90 crores. Given the pace at which the movie is picking up, it is unlikely that it will enter the Rs 100 crores club.
It should not be forgotten that collections of Udta Punjab were somehow affected by the online leak. The movie got leaked two days before release on Torrent websites. The police earlier this week arrested a Mumbai man in Delhi in this connection.
In fact, this week too, Hollywood crushed Bollywood at the box office. Despite poor reviews, ‘Independence Day Resurgence’ earned Rs 4.70 crore.
