New Delhi: Shahid Kapoor’s recent release ‘Udta Punjab’ has been into limelight for a while now.

The movie, which was stuck in a controversy with the Censor Board over certification before release, is winning a lot of appreciation post release.

Shahid, who plays the role of a Punjabi rockstar Tommy Singh in the movie, has stunned everyone with his looks. On the other hand, Alia Bhatt is also garnering attention for her portrayal of a Bihari labour girl.

The bubbly girl, who has done complete justice with the role, is receiving appreciation from every quarter.

However, her co-stars feel that Alia deserves a lot more.

Alia’s co-star from ‘Udta Punjab’ – Shahid and Kareena feels that the ‘Highway’ actress should win a National Award for the movie.

“I agree with that. However, we give a lot of importance to awards, Alia should take the appreciation and acceptance from the audience as her biggest award,” Kareena told a leading daily.

Earlier, Shahid too had made a statement on this saying, “Alia should win the national award.”

Directed by Abhishek Choubey, ‘Udta Punjab’ also featured Diljit Dosanjh in a key role. The movie dealt in the sensitive issue of increasing substance abuse among youth in India.
