Vidya Balan-starrer Tumhari Sulu released this Friday with mixed reviews from the critics. However, Vidya Balan’s performance as Sulu is being widely appreciated. Many Bollywood celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, Anupam Kher and Aditi Rao Hydari also praised the film. Tumhari Sulu made a decent start at the box office. On its opening, it managed to earn Rs. 2.87 crore.
"#TumhariSulu picked up after a slow start in the morning shows. Fri ? 2.87 cr. India biz. Expected to register robust growth over the weekend," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
Directed by Suresh Triveni, the movie is about a competent woman - essayed by Vidya - who chances upon the opportunity of becoming an RJ and grabs it with both hands. The flick also stars Manav Kaul, Neha Dhupia and RJ Malishka.
Tumhari Sulu faced a clash with Gautam Rode and Zareen Khan-starrer Aksar 2. The romantic-thriller film raked in Rs. 1.44 crore on its opening, comparatively much lesser than Vidya Balan’s Tumhari Sulu.
Taran Adarsh tweeted the first-day collection of the film on his Twitter. He wrote:
#Aksar2 Fri ₹ 1.44 cr. India biz.
