Superstar Salman Khan’s latest release Tubelight has finally entered the coveted Rs 100 crore club in 6 days. Despite receiving mixed reviews, the film has minted the huge amount. The opening weekend collection of the film was Rs 64.77 crore. Tubelight has become Bhaijaan’s 11th film to enter the coveted club. Tubelight opened with Rs 21.15 crore and went on to mint Rs 95.86 crore in 5 days. Though, the collection of the film is low as compared to Salman’s previous films. Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh took to micro-blogging site Twitter to share the numbers. He tweeted, “#Tubelight Fri 21.15 cr, Sat 21.17 cr, Sun 22.45 cr, Mon 19.09 cr [Eid], Tue 12 cr. Total: ₹ 95.86 cr. India biz.
Before Tubelight, Salman’s previous films, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Ready, Bodyguard, Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo, Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Jai Ho, Kick also made their place in the 100-crore club. It is yet to be seen what more wonders Tubelight has in store for movie buffs.
Directed by filmmaker Kabir Khan, Tubelight is set against the backdrop of 1962 Sino-Indian War. Along with Salman, the film also features Sohail Khan, Matin Rey Tangu and Chinese actress Zhu Zhu in pivotal roles.
