Women rights activist Trupti Desai, reportedly, has been approached for reality show Bigg Boss for the coming 10th season of the show. Media reports say that she is one of the participants whom the Colors channel has zeroed in on for the show hosted by Salman Khan.
Trupti confirmed the news to a leading daily saying that she will accept the offer only if her demand is fulfilled. She, reportedly, wants that the voice of Bigg Boss, which communicates with the participants, should be of a female.
It is worth a mention that in most of the seasons Bigg Boss show hosted an activist. Sapna Bhavnani, the celebrity hairstylist, who is known for her commitment towards feminism, was part of Bigg Boss 6.
Sampat Pal Devi, founder of the Gulabi Gang, an Uttar Pradesh-based social organisation that works for women welfare and empowerment was also a participant in Bigg Boss.
Trupti is the head of Bhumata Brigade and was in news for her mission to allow women disciples in worship places where they were not allowed.
Shani Shingnapur Temple in Maharashtra, where women were not allowed to perform in sanctum sanctorum had to end the centuries old ban after the high voltage campaign by Desai.
She kick started the protest this year on January 26 along with 500 other women. It went on till April 8, 2016 or till the authorities gave the permission to the women devotees.
Post this win, Trupti also tried to enter Haji Ali Dargah in April 20116 but was unsuccessful.
Trupti seems to be an interesting candidate for the Bigg Boss considering her fiery oration and no-tolerance attitude against gender inequality.
Apart from her, other names which are being doing the rounds of media for the possible candidates of Big Boss 10 are – Radhe Maa, Shiney Ahuja, Nakshatra Bhagwe and Rahul Raj Singh.
