Total Dhamaal not to release in Pakistan, announces Ajay Devgn

Total Dhamaal makers have decided not to release their film in Pakistan, in the wake of Pulwama terror attack. Ajay Devgn took to Twitter to announce the news. He wrote, ''In light of the current situation the team of Total Dhamaal has decided to not release the film in Pakistan''. The forthcoming madcap has an ensemble star cast comprising Arshad Warsi, Madhuri Dixit, Riteish Deshmukh, Javed Jaffrey and others. The film, which is scheduled to release on February 22 is about a bunch of greedy goofballs who want to make their fortune with Rs 50 crore bounty. They kick-start an adventurous ride only to be pitted against zoo animals. There is situational comedy and pairing of Madhuri and Anil as a bonus.

India lost 43 of its CRPF personnel in a terrorist attack in Kashmir's Pulwama, in which an SUV filled with explosives targeted a convoy ferrying CRPF jawans. Soon after the attack, there was a nation-wide protest condemning the act. There was a raging demand by netizens to teach lessons to Pakistan for supporting terrorism. Several renowned personalities including Bollywood celebrities took to social media to express their grief and stand in support of bereaved families.

Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar, who were to visit Pakistan canceled their tour after the attack. The couple was to visit Karachi in order to attend Kaifi Azmi's birth centenary celebrations. The literary and arts community of Pakistan expressed disappointment over the decision.

Reacting to this, the Arts Council president said, "I don't criticise her but we deeply feel saddened the way she had expressed disappointment after the Pulwama attack. We firmly believe that artistes and people who are regarded for their literary and artistic contribution are the ones who give hope to people. They never disappoint them. But this time, Shabana Azmi sounds extremely disappointed."
