Shabana Azmi and Javed Akhtar, who were to visit Pakistan canceled their tour after the attack. The couple was to visit Karachi in order to attend Kaifi Azmi's birth centenary celebrations. The literary and arts community of Pakistan expressed disappointment over the decision.
Reacting to this, the Arts Council president said, "I don't criticise her but we deeply feel saddened the way she had expressed disappointment after the Pulwama attack.
