As the day 1 box office collection of Salman Khan’s Tubelight came out, speculations are being made whether the Salman Khan's flagship flick will manage to hop the highest grosser bandwagon for the year 2017. With the tremendous earnings of Baahubali: The Conclusion, it is next to impossible for a Bollywood film to cross that benchmark. But they can certainly join the league for sure. Kabir Khan’s Tubelight is said to be the lowest Eid-opening for superstar Salman Khan’s movie in the past few years. Bajrangi Bhaijaan continues to be the highest opener at Rs. 27.25 crore on box office. But despite the numbers, Tubelight is the second best opening after Raees for year 2017. Let’s have a look at 5 best openers of Bollywood in 2017, as tweeted by Taran Adarsh:
Baahubali: The Conclusion
The film enjoys the status of being the highest grosser plus highest opener. There are no qualms why this Rajamouli magnum opus is the constant on its position of being ‘Numero Uno’ in Indian cinema. The Prabhas-starrer film managed to rake in a massive amount of Rs. 41 crore on its opening day itself, being the highest opener in 2017.
Raees
Although, the film faced a clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil, it came out to be a clear winner. The Shah Rukh Khan-starrer film is said to be the second-best opener after Baahubali: The Conclusion, even though the difference is huge. The difference between the opening day collection of Raees and Tubelight is not much, but the Salman Khan film trails behind by a few numbers.
