The Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar starrer Toilet: Ek Prem Katha hit the cinemas on August 11 amid copyright issues and huge expectations. Several Bollywood celebs such as Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar and Varun Johar lauded the Shree Narayan Singh film. Now, Hollywood actress Salma Hayek is all praise for Akshay Kumar’s film. The actress extended her wishes to the Jolly LLB 2 actor for his latest flick and also, said that no woman should fear going to the toilet.
Taking to her Twitter handle Salam Hayek said, “Good luck to @akshaykumar on @ToiletTheFilm out today! End #OpenDefecation now! No woman should fear going to the toilet! #ToiletEkPremKatha”.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar thanked the Desperado and Wild Wild West star for supporting their “small effort” to end open defecation. “Thank you for your wishes for our small effort towards #GoingODF : #ToiletEkPremKatha, “ Akshay wrote.
Akshay Kumar's film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha manages to do a fair business on its opening day. It mints Rs. 13.10 crore on Friday. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie performed well post afternoon. The film being based on a social issue is expected to see a surge on Independence Day.
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha is perhaps not Akshay Kumar’s best films in the recent years. But the actor has invested the best of himself in the role, which makes the movie worth a watch. The on-screen chemistry of Akshay and Bhumi is satisfactory, if not superb. The lovers of humour are definitely going to love the film.
