While debates on prevailing sexism in the film industry make way almost everyday, a new media report will reveal the dark side again. Reportedly, the actress of upcoming movie ‘Munna Michael’ Niddhi Agerwal was asked to sign a no-dating contract before coming on board of the movie. The movie also stars Tiger Shroff in the lead, and apparently he has not signed anything like this.

According to the contract that the debutant Niddhi signed, she was not allowed to date anyone even beyond the film’s sets. This means that till she is filming for the movie she can’t see anyone from the sets or beyond that.

The dance drama went on floors last weekend and Niddhi joined the crew from Saturday.

Speaking about the contract which she signed, Niddhi told a leading daily that she had to read it twice to believe her eyes. Though, she added that she did not have any problems in signing it, as it will help her concentrate on her work. She said that the makers may have taken a step because production houses use rumours of co-stars dating as a publicity exercise.

Niddhi added that due to this clause she can keep her phone aside and practise for hours without thinking who is calling her.

When the producer of the movie Viki Rajani was questioned by a daily on  why Tiger was spared from similar term in the contract, he reportedly said that it was because he was already a star. He said it was Niddhi’s debut movie and it would be better if her mind sans distractions.

“She is a bright girl and we don’t want her to get distracted. Sabbir (Khan, director) and I have seen real potential in her and this will do her good,” Viki was quoted.

In fact when Viki was told that the contact is unfair and sexist, he defended it by saying that they didn’t put a gun on Niddhi’s head. “It’s not like we made her sign [the contract] at gunpoint. She agreed to it,” he added.

Niddhi may say that it was her choice to sign the contract but it doesn’t erase the sexism, which it shouts aloud. Especially when Tiger Shroff’s dating rumours with Disha Patani are still rife.
