The release of Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year gave the Hindi Film Industry three of the most loved celebrities right now- Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra. Within some time, rumours were rife that Alia and Sidharth have turned their reel-life chemistry to real-life chemistry as they were allegedly dating each other.
While Alia and Sidharth have never confirmed that they were dating, their subtle hints towards the strong bond they both share with each other in interviews and their getting regularly snapped together had hardly left any doubts in the minds of fans that they were a couple.
However, back in August this year, rumour mills were abuzz with stories of the two actors calling it quits. According to the buzz, Sidharth was accused to be cheating on Alia with Jacqueline Fernandez. Apparently, there were rumours about Malhotra's growing proximity with his A Gentleman co-star Jacqueline Fernandez which left Alia irked.
The reports also suggested that despite a special bond Sidharth and Jacqueline have never been an official couple. Jacqueline had asserted that they were just friends, and the former cleared the air that Sid is single.
Just when their fans were certain about the break-up, Sidharth and Alia, yet again surprised everyone by posing together at a Diwali bash. Apparently, Karan Johar played peacemaker between the pair and the two were then back together.
But now, it seems the two lovebirds have actually broken up as they might have dropped the biggest hint regarding this.
Alia-Sidharth ushered to New York and Mexico for a vacation just before New Year’s Eve. However, this year Alia has gone to Bali with her girl gang and will probably celebrate New Year’s Eve there only.
On the other hand, Sidharth has confirmed that he’ll be in India as he has no plans for the New Year except promoting his film Aiyaary that is coming to screen on January 26.
With Sid not around this year, should we assume that there is truth to the breakup rumours?
