The entire team of ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ is planning to shoot a special episode dedicated to late Taarak Mehta who was the inspiration behind the show. The popular columnist, humourist, writer and playwright Taarak died on Wednesday at the age of 87.
Telly actor Dilip Joshi who plays the character of Jethalal in the popular sitcom revealed to a leading daily that the entire team of the show was sad with the news of his demise and all of them are planning to dedicate a special episode in his memory.
Talking about the special episode he said, “The entire team and producers are now discussing how we can do it. It is extremely sad that he passed away.”
Dilip also stated that they came to know about the sad news when they were shooting for some episodes. The playwright died of prolonged illness.
The popular show was inspired from Taarak’s column in Gujrati ‘Duniya Ne Undha Chashma’.
After the news of his demise broke, many prominent faces including Delhi's CM Arvind Kejriwal mourned his death.
Tarak was honoured with the Padma Shree award in 2015. He used to write for popular Gujarati dailies like Divya Bhaskar. His first column was published in in Chitralekha in March 1971.
