Bollywood actress Tapsee Pannu, who is seen giving a tough time to the patriarchal society in her recent release ‘Pink’, has accepted that she was molested publicly during her teenage years.
The actress, who is born and brought up in Delhi, confessed how she was humiliated and touched inappropriately by men numerous times.
While talking to a leading daily, Tapsee admitted to this disheartening fact, that eve-teasing has become an inescapable part of every Delhi girl’s life. She also recalled how she faced this molestation almost everyday while travelling in DTC buses during her college days. Tapsee also stated that it was not just about the bad touch, but she was also rubbed at the wrong places during her journey in the buses.
Tapsee further added that this eve-teasing often got worse especially when one had to enter into a crowded place and that too during the festivals.
The ‘Pink actress also revealed that the eve-teasing incidents started taking a toll on her self confidence and gave her a feeling of being a culprit. She admitted that this was because of the society we live in, which fed us with the belief that a girl should be modest and must follow a set of dos and don’ts.
On the work front, Tapsee Pannu has been garnering rave reviews for ‘Pink’ in which she is seen sharing the screen space with megastar Amitabh Bachchan for the first time. The movie has hit the theatres today and is being touted as one of the must-watch movies.
