Taapsee Pannu is currently in Glasglow, filming Sujoy Ghosh's Badla, with Amitabh Bachchan. She said she has a powerful role in the film.
The film will be made in collaboration with another well-established entertainment house. Amitabh Bachchan and Tapsee Pannu were last seen together in the 2016 hit film, Pink. The duo's on-screen presence and camaraderie were appreciated by the audience and critics alike.
Tapsee Pannu who has been busy with back-to-back shots has now donned the cap of an astute entrepreneur in Badla. She is one of the talented actors in the film industry.
“This is going to be a riveting thriller. It’s Sujoy’s favourite genre and I am yet another time out of my comfort zone which I actually enjoy the most,” Taapsee said in a statement.
The actress addressed Mr Bachchan as an ace co-star and said in a statement: "When you are in safe hands of a brilliant filmmaker and an ace co-actor there is nothing to fear."
Sujoy said he is extremely excited for the film and his excitement just got doubled now that SRK will be the producer. Taapsee Pannu has carved a niche for herself in the industry.
"It will be unfair to both Sujoy and me if the film didn't have such a character. I’ve been shooting films back-to-back over the last couple of months but most of them have been desi girls. Now suddenly, I’m in Scotland playing a sharp, powerful businesswoman based here, it’s a drastic jump. This woman is also not your conventional Sujoy heroine as you will realize,” she exults.
Talking about the film and her character of a businesswoman in it, Taapsee said: "It's slightly more glamorized character than my earlier characters which I have played but it is not on the lines of my glamorous role in Judwaa 2."
She also spoke about the buddy vibe Big B shares with the hero on set, allowing her to work with him without getting intimidated by his stature and experience, and hopes to continue work together with him as they form a good team. She has been nailing every role of hers with equal grace and perfection.
She currently awaits the release of her forthcoming film Soorma, a biopic on hockey player Sandeep Singh, directed by Shaad Ali, who has also helmed hit films like Saathiya and Bunty Aur Babli.
