Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi today targeted filmmaker Karan Johar on his decision of becoming father through surrogacy, asking that why is the director not getting married.
A day after Karan announced the news of his fatherhood on Twitter, Abu Azmi, who is father-in-law of actress Ayesha Takia, questioned filmmaker’s decision not to marry, and further added that if he had some problem then he could have adopted kids.
He then went on to refer surrogacy as drama.
The politician said, “Itne bade ho gaye, shaadi nahin kar sakte? Koi beemari hai toh adopt kar lo. Surrogacy ka kya naatak hai ye?”
Karan Johar, yesterday, announced on micro blogging site Twitter that he became father to twins through surrogacy, and named them Yash and Roohi.
After his tweet, many Bollywood celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Farah Khan congratulated the director and also showered their love on kids.
But, it seems that Abu Azmi has some different opinion. This is not the first time, the politician has given some controversial remarks. Previously, Azmi came in the news when he blamed women for the mass molestation in Bengaluru.
Now, Karan’s reaction on the whole matter is awaited.
Earlier, actors Shah Rukh Khan and Tusshar Kapoor also became fathers through this process.
