The makers of Tollywood superstar Suriya’s ‘S3’ have decided to postpone the movie by a week.‘S3’ which was earlier scheduled to release on December 16, will now hit the screens on December 23.
The annoucement was made through an official statement released by the makers.
While the makers didn’t divulge the exact reason for postponement, several speculations are being made about what made them delay the release of ‘S3’.
According to the media reports, the makers have decided to push the release because of porducer Allu Aravind who wants a safe deck for his nephew Ram Charan’s upcoming movie ‘Dhruva’.
“Allu Aravind wants to clear the deck for at least two weeks, for his film Dhruva that stars his nephew, Ram Charan. So he requested Suriya and his filmmakers apart from Kannada film producer Rockline Venkatesh to postpone their releases. Both the groups obliged”, a source told a leading daily.
‘Dhruva’ is scheduled to release on December 9 and with the shift of ‘S3’ it will get a competition-free run of two weeks at the box office.
Interestingly, ‘S3’ is the third instalment of the much successful ‘Singham’ franchise starring Suriya
‘S3’ will feature Suriya as an universal cop who will be on an international mission in the movie.
The movie will also feature Anushka Shetty and Shruti Haasan in key roles. Besides, Thakur Anoop Singh will be seen as the lead antagonist in ‘S3’.
