Is Suniel Shetty interfering in his daughter's movie?
Bollywood actor Suniel Shetty has landed in a soup as makers of Motichoor Chaknachoor starring his daughter Athiya Shetty and Nawazuddin Siddiqui have slapped a public notice on him. The actor has been accused of interfering in the film making process of this romantic-comedy. The producers of the film Rajesh and Kiran Bhatia sent a notice to him stating that they are the sole decision-making authority.
As per Mumbai Mirror, the notice further states that Suniel Shetty has no right to interfere in the project at any level. He should not be involved in its post-production and marketing campaign. In case the actor fails to comply with the notice, the makers have threatened him with dire consequences.
“Mr Suniel Shetty has no right, title and/or interest in the said film and has no capacity or any authority to either directly or indirectly discuss or take any decisions, negotiate, strategise or overlook the edit or in any manner interfere or be involved with the film Motichoor Chaknachoor or with its cast, crews, technical teams or coordinate with the studio involved with the film or its creative and marketing teams or post productions or any person connected or with the trade. If done so, it shall be considered as trespassing and breach of confidentiality at its own risk, cost and consequences,” – the notice read, as reported by the tabloid.
Suniel Shetty hasn't reacted to the notice yet.
Directed by debutant Debamitra Hassan, Motichoor Chaknachoor revolves around an odd couple and has been shot entirely in Bhopal. Nawaz and Athiya had to go extensive language and accent training for their characters.
Meanwhile, Nawaz was last seen in Thackeray in which he played the role of Shiv Sena founder Bal Keshav Thackeray. Before in biopic Manto, the actor portrayed the life of Urdu writer Saadat Hasan Manto in Nandita Das film. The movie which got positive reviews from critics also featured Divya Dutta, Tahir Raj Bhasin, lyricist Javed Akhtar in pivotal roles. On the other hand, Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty made her Bollywood debut with Hero, co-starring Sooraj Pancholi. She was later seen in 2017 film Mubarakan co-starring Arjun Kapoor.
