Sui Dhaaga Box Office Collection Day 5

Sui Dhaaga Box Office Collection Day 5: At the box office this week, Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan's family entertainer, Sui Dhaaga, showed immaculate growth. After recording a neat opening on Rs 8.30 crore, collections of the Sharat Katariya directorial almost doubled on Day 5 as the film raked in a solid Rs 55.35 crore owing to National holiday Gandhi Jayanti.

Film critic Taran Adarsh wrote, “#SuiDhaaga takes full benefit of national holiday on Day 5 and hits double digits... Crosses ₹ 55 cr... Day 6 [Wed] - a working day, coming after a big holiday - is crucial... Fri 8.30 cr, Sat 12.25 cr, Sun 16.05 cr, Mon 7 cr, Tue 11.75 cr. Total: ₹ 55.35 cr. India biz”.

Film trade website Box Office India pointed out that the film recovered well post its dull start on Friday when collections were impacted by the ongoing Asia Cup match. While most young audiences would have flocked to the evening shows, the tournament may have held them back.

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma's invested performances in an earnest story about self-reliance are being lauded by the critics and public alike.

Sharat Katariya’s film went head-to-head with Vishal Bhardwaj’s Pataakha starring Sanya Malhotra and Radhika Madan. While Sui Dhaaga managed to gain momentum during the weekend and its Sunday collections were almost double of its collections witnessed on the day of its release, Pataakha got a lukewarm response.

Meanwhile, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree is still holding fort at the box-office. The film has been declared a hit and has crossed Rs 127 crore, as quoted by film critic Taran Adarsh. The film collected around Rs 3 crore in its fifth weekend.
