Sui Dhaaga Box Office Collection Day 2
Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga: Made In India has not just managed to woo the critics with spell-binding performances but the audience has fallen in love with director Sharat Katariya’s simple way to telling the story of Mauji and Mamta. On the first day itself, the film garnered praises from all corners and earned Rs 8.30 crores which is pretty amazing for any film and it is expected the after the first weekend, the film will be showered with a lot more love and good box office numbers. On Day 2, Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma starrer Sui Dhaaga earned Rs 12.25 cr making its total as Rs. 20.55cr.
Bollywood critic and film analyst Taran Adarsh shared the latest numbers earned by the film and wrote, “#SuiDhaaga zooms upwards on Day 2... Catches speed at metros and mass belt... The target audience [families] have taken to the film, thus converting into increased footfalls... Expect a SOLID Day 3... Fri 8.30 cr, Sat 12.25 cr. Total: ₹ 20.55 cr [2500 screens]. India biz.
#SuiDhaaga should have ₹ 35 cr [+/-] opening weekend, as per current trending... As mentioned earlier, the evening shows on Day 4 [Mon] should witness momentum, while Day 5 [Tue] - a national holiday [Gandhi Jayanti] - should record big numbers again.”
According to India Tv's film critic, 'Sui Dhaaga is a realistic slice-of-life drama which gyrates around a lower-middle class couple who aspire to set up their own clothing line. Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan played the lead couple in the movie. Both the actors outdid their respective roles in the Sharat Katariya-directorial. Also, there are many punches in the film especially by Raghuvir Yadav and his on-screen wife, which may get many laughs out of the audience. Without being melodramatic, Sui Dhaaga takes us on a journey of a couple who dared to dream big and even turned their dream into reality.'
Sui Dhaaga is directed by Sharat Katariya whose first directorial venture Dum Laga Ke Haisha was an instant hit among the audience. The film was also a neighbourhood affair of a mismatch couple. It marked the debut of actress Bhumi Pednekar in Bollywood.
