Student of the Year 2 Box Office Prediction: Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday starrer expected to mint Rs 10 crore on day 1
Student of the Year 2 Box Office Prediction: Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria's Student of the Year 2 is all set to release on May 10 this year. It's going to be the first Bollywood film to release after Avengers: Endgame. Ever since Kalank's debacle, Bollywood faced a dry spell of movie release for a month. Going by the calendar, many big Bollywood films are lined up this month including De De Pyaar De. Coming back to SOTY 2, the film has created enough buzz and more than that, it's basking on the previously-created buzz of it's predecessor Student of the Year. Though, SOTY wasn't a critical hit, but it rake substantial numbers at the box office.
Same expectations are rested on the shoulders of Student of the Year 2, which is introducing two newcomers Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday. The response towards these newbies are lukewarm. Their dancing skills have certainly raised many eyebrows with doubt. However, Tiger Shroff's immense fan following might draw the audience to the theatres, citing that there's no other Bollywood movie clashing with SOTY 2.
Student of the Year, which released in 2012, raked in around Rs 7.5 crore at the box office, which amounts to Rs 8 crore of 2019. Given that SOTY 2 is not releasing on an extended weekend of a festival, the numbers are hardly expected to go above Rs 10 crore on first day.
Student of the Year also had two star kids Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan and one newcomer; Sidharth Malhotra. Alia Bhatt shot off to popularity with her first film itself. Let's see how Student of the Year 2 fares for Ananya Panday, who finds her idol in Bhatt.
Unlike Student of the Year, SOTY 2 is directed by Punit Malhotra. The predeccesor was helmed by Karan Johar himself and produced under his home production banner Dharma Productions. SOTY 2 is also produced by Dharma Production and the casting was overseen by Karan Johar himself.
