Student Of The Year 2 finally crosses Rs 50 crore mark.

Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria starrer Student Of The Year 2 finally crossed Rs 50 crore mark at the box office within one week of its release. The Punit Malhotra-directed film did fairly well in the weekend, the film opened to Rs 12.06 crore and managed to make over Rs 38 crore in the weekend. The weekend collection of Student Of The Year 2 is Tiger Shroff's third highest opening weekend figure of the year 2019. However, the weekday's collection was not up to the mark, the film collected Rs 5.52 crore on Monday, Rs 5.02 crore on Tuesday and Rs 4.14 crore on Wednesday which managed to take the total box-office collection to Rs 53.38 crore in six days.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said that the weekday collection of SOTY 2 is stable on weekdays but overall total is underwhelming, he wrote, "#StudentOfTheYear2 is stable on weekdays [plexes continue to add to the total], but the overall total is underwhelming... Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr, Sun 12.75 cr, Mon 5.52 cr, Tue 5.02 cr, Wed 4.51 cr. Total: ₹ 53.88 cr. India biz. #SOTY2".

Student Of The Year 2 failed to impress the audience. While reviewing SOTY2, film critic Rajeev Masand said, "Student of the Year 2 is both predictable, and far from original. But that’s not even the big problem with the film. Unlike the previous installment this one isn't grounded in emotion, so it’s hard to be invested in the characters or affected by their conflicts... Tiger works hard to lift Student of the Year 2 off the page, but he’s pitted against a clunky screenplay that seems determined to weigh it down."

India TV film critic wrote, "With an unuasual love triangle in the middle of it, there is a tad bit drama in the movie when Shreya(Ananya Panday) gets slapped and Rohan(Tiger Shroff) gets thrown out of school. However, in totality, the movie lacks the oomph factor and is boring."
