Student of the Year 2 Box Office Collection Day 5: Tiger Shroff's film inches closer to Rs 50 crore mark

The Puneet Malhotra directed college drama Student of the Year 2, which features Tiger Shroff, Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday in lead roles, is all set to cross Rs 50 crore at the box-office. The Karan Johar production film scored well over the weekend. However, it's box-office collection have been dropping since Monday. SOTY 2 earned Rs 38.83 crore over its first weekend, Rs 5.52 on Monday and Rs 5.02 on Tuesday, taking the total box-office collection to Rs 49.37 crore in five days.

Trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh writes, "#StudentOfTheYear2 shows ordinary trending... Didn’t decline much on Tue [vis-à-vis Mon], but what’s surprising is that it hasn’t crossed ₹ 50 cr yet, even after 5 days... Fri 12.06 cr, Sat 14.02 cr, Sun 12.75 cr, Mon 5.52 cr, Tue 5.02 cr. Total: ₹ 49.37 cr. India biz. #SOTY2".

Reviewing Student of the Year 2. India TV film critic said, "Tiger Shroff often uses the jargon, "Din Tera Hai Sal Mera Hoga" and is the only dialogue delivery, which he perfected. Tara Sutaria has hardly got any dialogue in the movie which didn't help her at all. Talking about Ananya Panday's screen presence, she still managed to grab some space. Aditya Seal has been portrayed as a rich brat, lacking moral values and the trophy student for the school".

Aditya Seal, who also features in Student of the Year 2 recently compared his movie to Avengers: Endgame. In a recent interview with Times Now , he said,“This is a fantasy. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of a school like this, where you have such amazing-looking people and the school is this good? We are just trying to create a world for people where they can just watch it and be like, ‘Oh, I wish I was a part of this!’ When I watch ‘Avengers’, I want to be a part of it. I want to be Tony Stark/Iron Man. The same way, we are trying to create a world for them.”
