Student of the Year 2 box office collection day 1: Tiger Shroff, Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria film bags Rs 12 crore
Student of the Year 2 box office collection day 1: Student of the Year 2, starring Tiger Shroff alongside the debut star kid Ananya Panday and Tara Sutaria failed to impress the audience. The hype about SOTY 2 met a miserable end. The movie had a slow start at the box office and received no applauds. Student of the year 2 bagged only Rs 12 crore as day one collection. The weight to take the movie forward was heavy for Tiger Shroff. Baaghi 2 on the contrary earned Rs 25 crore on an opening day.
Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted to share the day 1 collection of SOTY 2. He tweeted, "#StudentOfTheYear2 puts up a fairly good total on Day 1... Biz slowed down towards evening shows... Sat and Sun crucial... Substantial growth - especially at plexes - is essential for a healthy total... Fri ₹ 12.06 cr. India biz. #SOTY2 is Tiger’s second highest opener so far."
Though SOTY 2 stands at second position when it comes to Tiger Shroff's movies, yet it failed to clear the final results. Comparing other Tiger Shroff's movies. Student of the Year 2 which is running successfully in cinemas was directed by Punit Malhotra. Being a Dharma Productions banner movie, a lot was expected from the movie, however it had loose ends and no storyline. SOTY 2 stands at fifth highest opening among other Bollywood films like Kalank, Kesari, Gully Boy and Total Dhamaal. These movies bagged an opening of Rs 21.60 cr, Rs 21.06 cr, Rs 19.40 cr and Rs 16 cr, respectively, according to the reports shared by Taran Adarsh.
Student of the year 2 is a sequel to Student of the Year which marked the debut of Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan.
