Good content leading to positive word-of-mouth can transform the fate of a movie overnight. Something similar has happened with Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor's latest horror-comedy, Stree. Stree has been performing consistently well since its release on August 31. The horror comedy has been doing extremely well in India as well as overseas. Stree opened to positive response at the box office and continues to maintain its momentum.
Till now, the film has grossed Rs 150.07 crore (nett Rs 120.06 crore) in India and Rs 12 crore at the overseas box office. It currently stands with the grand total of Rs 162.07 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared Stree Box Office Collection and said, “#Stree [Week 4] Fri 1.51 cr, Sat 2.05 cr, Sun 2.86 cr, Mon 97 lakhs. Total: ₹ 120.06 cr. India biz”.
Helmed by Amar Kaushik, Stree starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Pankaj Tripathi, Flora Saini, Viyaj Raaz and Abhishek Banerjee was released on August 31, this year. Bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K, the horror-comedy is made under the banners of Maddock Films and D2R Films.
Stree features Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles while Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, and Abhishek Banerjee play pivotal parts in the film.
Stree is apparently based on the urban Indian legend of Nale Ba which is about a witch who knocks on people's doors at night.
