The first-week collection of Bollywood film Stree is out now. The Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor starrer is winning hearts everywhere. The horror comedy, which was released on August 31, has collected a grand total of Rs 60.39 crore on the first week of its opening. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced latest Stree box-office collection on social media, “#Stree is REMARKABLE in Week 1... Day-wise biz is an EYE-OPENER... East, West, North, South - this film is a WINNER... Fri 6.83 cr, Sat 10.87 cr, Sun 14.57 cr, Mon 9.70 cr, Tue 6.37 cr, Wed 6.55 cr, Thu 5.50 cr. Total: ₹ 60.39 cr [1950 screens]. India biz”.
Will Stree hit 100 crore mark in week 2?
“Will #Stree cross 100 cr? Much depends on how it fares in Weekend 2... While the film is holding on to a good number of screens in Week 2 [Week 1: 1950; Week 2: 1770] + the trending is superb, it should deliver strong numbers in Week 2 as well”, says Taran Adarsh.
Why Stree is already a winner?
Irrespective for its *lifetime biz*, #Stree is a LOTTERY for its investors... The mid-sized film has already recovered a substantial chunk of investment from non-theatrical avenues, while the all-India theatrical biz is an added bonus.
The film garnered attention due to its unique plot based on the urban legend of Nale Ba. Bollywood trade analyst had further attributed the footfalls to positive word of mouth. He also predicted that further growth is expected on the third day.
Stree, which also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana and Abhishek Banerjee, has received positive reviews from the audiences and critics alike.
Stree also marks the directorial debut of Amar Kaushik and is produced by DK and Raj, the makers of zombie comedy Go Goa Gone.
With new Bollywood releases such as Laila Majnu, Paltan and Gali Guleiyan, we have to see whether Stree's box-office collection will be hampered or stay steady.
