Giving tough competition to new releases such as Manmarziyaan and Love Sonia, horror comedy film Stree is continuing its rule at the box-office. The Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor starrer, which crossed the Rs 100 crore mark on Saturday, has now gained a blockbuster status. On Sunday, Stree earned a decent Rs 4.74 crore taking the grand total to Rs 106.18 crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “#Stree continues its REMARKABLE journey, despite multiple films - new as well as holdover titles- eating into the market share... [Week 3] Fri 2.14 cr, Sat 3.76 cr, Sun 4.75 cr. Total: ₹ 106.18 cr. India biz”.

Earlier, Stree opened to fantastic response at the box-office as it earned Rs 6.83 crore. By the end of its first weekend, it crossed the Rs 30 crore-mark. Its earnings went past Rs 60 crore in the first week. The second weekend brought it over Rs 20 crore making it comfortably cross the Rs 80 crore-mark.
Stree, also featuring Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi in important roles, is directed by debutant Amar Kaushik. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Raj & DK under the film production banners of Maddock Films and D2R Films, the film hit the screens on August 31.
Upon its release, Stree largely received positive reviews from film critics. The word of mouth, too, was in the film’s favour.
