The horror comedy film Stree is creating magic at the box-office. The Rajkummar Rao and Shradhha Kapoor starrer earned Rs 3.22 crore on Tuesday, taking its total collection to Rs 88.82 crore. Directed by Amar Kaushik, Stree is giving tough competition to Arjun Rampal starrer Paltan and Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu. Both the films released on September 7 whereas Stree hit the cinemas on August 30.
Announcing the latest Stree Box Office Collection, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, “#Stree maintains the momentum... Is ROCK-STEADY... [Week 2] Fri 4.39 cr, Sat 7.63 cr, Sun 9.88 cr, Mon 3.31 cr, Tue 3.22 cr. Total: ₹ 88.82 cr. India biz”
Stree Vs Paltan and Laila Majnu
At a time when Rajkummar Rao and Shradhha Kapoor’s film is raking in the moolah, Paltan and Laila Majnu have been performing poorly at the box-office.
Registering a fall of over 50 percent, JP Dutta’s war drama Paltan earned only Rs 60 lakh on its first Monday, September 10. After a weak opening and further bad weekend, the film’s total collection has reached only Rs 5.6 crore, as per trade portal BoxOfficeIndia.com.
The Sajid Ali directorial, Laila Majnu, earned Rs 20 lakh yesterday, taking the film’s total collection to Rs 1.75 crore, the portal claimed
As per Taran Adarsh's previous tweet, Stree got a bigger start at the box office than Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se. Reporting the film's early box office trends on Friday, Mr Adarsh tweeted: "Box office can be most unpredictable but that's the beauty of this business... Stree takes a bigger start than the bigger-in-cast Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se. Proves, phir se [yet again], Fridays can be so unpredictable!"
Stree is a horror-comedy directed by Amar Kaushik, the film also features Aparshakti Khurrana, Pankaj Tripathi and Vijay Raaz.
