The iconic actress Sridevi, who was 54, passed away in Dubai on Saturday night due to a cardiac arrest. The sudden demise of the English Vinglish actress has left the nation in shock. Sridevi was in Dubai for the wedding ceremony of Sonam Kapoor’s cousin Mohit Marwah.
The news of Sridevi’s demise was announced by her brother-in-law Sanjay Kapoor. Talking to a leading daily, Sanjay said, ‘’Yes, it is true that Sridevi passed away. I just landed here, I was in Dubai and now I am flying back to Dubai. It happened roughly around 11.00-11.30. I don’t know more details yet.”
This unfortunate news of Sridevi’s demise has shocked the entire film industry. And veteran actress Shabana Azmi has cancelled her Holi party (which is a part of tradition) for the first time due to the death of Sridevi. And this is for the first time in years when she will be cancelling the Holi party.
Shabana took to her Twitter to announce this. She wrote, ‘’Our Holi party at Janki Kurir stands cancelled on 2nd March in the wake of Sridevis passing away.’’
As per the latest update, forensic report has delayed due to which mortal remains of Sridevi may reach Mumbai later in the afternoon.
