Veteran actress Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor has been a sensation in the B-town lately. All thanks to her Instagram posts, which has garnered her a huge fan base.
Everyone is waiting to see her on the silver screen. And now after much of the speculation about her Bollywood debut, Janhvi is said to be entering the showbiz with Karan Johar’s ‘Shiddat’.
Apparently, the makers were planning to rope in Alia Bhatt for the lead role.
But as per the recent buzz, Alia will now be replaced by Janhvi and the newbie will be romancing Varun Dhawan in her debut movie. The movie is expected to hit the screens by mid-2017.
‘Shiddat’ will be helmed by Abhishek Varman, who had won appreciation for his debut directorial project ‘2 States’ starring Arjun Kapoor.
While an official confirmation is still awaited, this isn’t the first time the reports of Janhvi’s Bollywood debut are doing the rounds.
It was earlier reported that she would step in the showbiz with 2015 release Tamil romantic drama, ´Ok Kanmani’ opposite Dulquer Salmaan. However, Sridevi had rubbished the reports.
Sridevi had also once spoken about Janhvi’s dream to enter B-town and said she is perfectly fine with her daughter choosing acting as a profession. But she also mentioned that working in showbiz requires a lot of hardwork and is not a cake walk.
Interestingly, Jahnvi is also said to be considered for the sequel of Kjo’s 2012 directorial ‘Student Of The Year’, opposite Tiger Shroff.
Beside Janhvi, several other star kids including Saif Ali Khan’s daughter Sara, Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan, too might be seen making their big Bollywood debut next year. However, none of them has been finalised for any movie so far.
