Filmmaker Boney Kapoor has cleared the air about daughter Jhanvi’s big Bollywood debut, saying that the young diva will be stepping into B-town with a Karan Johar movie.
“Karan has been talking to us about a film for Jhanvi and we’ve given consent”, Boney told a leading daily.
It’s been a while that speculations are rife that Jhanvi has been roped in for the Hindi remake hit Marathi movie ‘Sairat’ which will be helmed by KJo.
To this Boney stated that since Johar had bought the rights of ‘Sairat’, Jhanvi will might make her debut with it. However he did emphasise that nothing has been confirmed so far. Earlier, it was rumoured that Jhanvi will cast in the sequel of 2012 release ‘Student Of The Year’, however, these turned out to be mere rumours.
While everyone has been anticipating Jhanvi’s debut in Bollywood, Sridevi had earlier dismissed the reports of her daughter becoming an actress saying it was quite early to decide for her career.
The veteran actress had asserted that she wants her children to enjoy every phase of their lives.
But looks like Boney Kapoor is quite proud of Jhanvi’s decision to enter showbiz and has high hopes from her.
Meanwhile, filmmaker KJo stated that he observed similar focus and concentration in Jhanvi that he saw in Sridevi during her career days. However, he emphasised that he doesn’t want Jhanvi to be compared with her mother.
“It’s never easy for star kids to make a place for themselves as they are invariably compared with their legendary parents”, he added.
Jhanvi has been the talk of the town with her spectacular appearances and fashion statement, and is expected to give other actresses a run for their money post debut.
