Sooryavanshi: Abhimanyu Singh as baddie to fight against Akshay Kumar in Rohit Shetty's film
Akshay Kumar starrer Sooryavanshi has become the talk of the tinsel town since the time it was announced. Another cop drama from Rohit Shetty’s police universe, Sooryavanshi first gave his glimpse in December 2018’s Ranveer Singh’s Simmba in the end. While it is known that Katrina Kaif will be playing Akshay's wife and Neena Gupta the mother, the main antagonist of the film has been announced today. Abhimanyu Singh is all set to play the baddie in Sooryavanshi as the main antagonist opposite Akshay Kumar in this Rohit Shetty directed movie.
Recently, Sooryavanshi makers released a BTS picture of Akshay Kumar as Anti-Terrorist Squad chief Veer Sooryavanshi.
The film, which is a fourth installment in the Rohit Shetty-directed popular cop film series-- Singham and Simmba-- will release on Eid 2020.
Taking about being a part of Sooryavanshi, Singh stated to Mumbai Mirror, "It began when Rohit sir saw my 2017 Tamil action-thriller Theeran, which was based on a true story. It was a big hit in which I had played a villain with heroic shades. He liked my performance in that film and thought that I would fit the role of the baddie in Sooryavanshi. It so happens that I live near Rohit sir’s office and one day, he called me over and congratulated me for bagging the part."
Abhimanyu added, "It’s an interesting role. Akshay sir and I have known each other for a while now and it has been a great shoot from the first day. It was a serious scene and we had to complete it in a day, which we did. It was lovely shooting with Akshay sir and Rohit sir made me feel as if we have known each other for years."
Meanwhile, Katrina Kaif has been roped in opposite Akshay in Sooryavanshi. The cop drama will mark the reunion of the actress with Akshay after a gap of nine years.
