Sonchiriya Trailer out: Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Bhumi Pednekar, manoj Bajpayee and Ranveer Shorey, the trailer of the much-awaited film Sonchiriya has finally hit the internet and deserves all the applaud. Set in the valleys of Chambal in the 1970s, this dacoit drama looks intriguing with the word go. The Chambal valley, once known for its relation to the dacoits, serves as the backdrop of the film in which many gangs fight to take control of the land. However, their integral fight is challenged by the government on one side as they try to break down the dacoits. The 2 minutes 42 seconds trailer shows a very different side of Sushant Singh Rajput as he plays a dacoit who rebels and dares to go against his gang. On the other hand, one will be surprised to see Bhumi Pednekar as well since she is shown as a badass woman in the film. While Sushant and Bhumi are a breath of fresh air in a new and unexplored genre like Sonchiriya, Manoj Bajpayee and Ranveer Shorey stand true to heir talent once again.
It won't be wrong to say that the cast and trailer of Abhishek Chaubey's directorial drama look fierce as well as dangerous. Watch the trailer here-
Earlier the makers of the film released an intriguing teaser of the film Sonchiriya that left many fans wanting for more. A voice-over in the teaser informs the audience that the rebels are on the lookout for a 'golden bird' (Son ki Chiriya). But it leaves the viewers with two questions- What is that golden bird and why is everyone after it?
Earlier while shooting for the film in Chambal, Sushant had told IANS, "Shooting for Abhishek Chaubey’s film is on full swing. I came here in Chambal early to do a bit of warm-up for the film. Visiting ravines, talking to locals, working on dialect and inflection and a bit of cut-off from everything before the shoot helps keep the right things in perspective."
Sonchiriya is directed by Abhishek Chaubey, who is known for helming films like Udta Punjab, Ishsiqiya and Dedh Ishqiya and is produced by Ronnie Screwvala.
