It was a starry night on Wednesday as several popular faces from the Bollywood industry gathered to attend the special screening of upcoming film Sonchiriya. Starring Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles, the dacoit drama is all set to hit the cinemas on March 1 alongside Kartik Aaryan and Kriti Sanon's Luka Chuppi, which is releasing on the same day. While Sushant and Bhumi Sonchiriya made heads turn in black at the special screening, it was BFF's Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday who stole the show completely.
Posing with Uri star Vicky Kaushal, the girls looked stunning at the event. Sara, who impressed us all with Kedarnath and Simmba, looked elegant in a grey outfit.
Meanwhile, Ananya Panday, who is all set to make her big Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's Student of the Year 2 alongside Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria, made a cool and casual appearance.
Besides Sara Ali Khan and Ananya Panday, Sonchiriya special screening also saw the attendance of several other celebrities such as Madhur Bhandarkar, Shabana Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Ishaan Khatter and several others.
Sonchiriya is set in the 1970s, and showcases a small town ruled and dominated by dacoits. Multiple gangs fight to attain power. The cast dons fierce avatars in sync with the theme of the film.
Earlier while shooting for the film in Chambal, Sushant had told IANS, "Shooting for Abhishek Chaubey’s film is on full swing. I came here in Chambal early to do a bit of warm-up for the film. Visiting ravines, talking to locals, working on dialect and inflection and a bit of cut-off from everything before the shoot helps keep the right things in perspective."
Shot in the valleys of Madhya Pradesh, it also stars Manoj Bajpayee, Ranvir Shorey and Ashutosh Rana in key roles.
Directed by Abhishek Chaubey, it is produced by Ronnie Screwvala and releases on March 1.
