Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor is excited to be a part of the upcoming comedy movie 'Battle for Bittora'.
Produced by Rhea Kapoor, the movie is based on renowned author Anuja Chauhan’s book ‘Battle of Bittora’ and will be helmed by director Shashanka Ghosh.
The actress said that she has always loved Anuja’s work, who happens to be one of her favourite writers, and is looking forward to bring ‘Battle of Bittora’ to silver screen.
“She has written some fantastic books on young girls, contemporary books like 'The Zoya Factor' and 'Battle of Bittora'. Those are very cinematic books”, she said.
As per the media reports Sonam will be seen playing the role of an animation expert who will find herself contesting elections in Bittora opposite an ex-royal.
The fashionista had earlier stated that the team has already begun working on the movie.
The team bought the rights of ‘Battle of Bittora’ two years back on Sonam’s birthday and is currently working on the screen-play.
It was reported that the movie will also feature Pakistani actor Fawad Khan as the male lead. Fawad would have been collaborating with Sonam for the second time after their 2014 release ‘Khoobsurat’. However, the actor walked out of the movie owing to date issues.
Currently, Sonam Kapoor is busy with her upcoming movie ‘Veere Di Wedding’ with Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The movie which is also directed by Shashanka Ghosh, is a chick flick also starring Swara Bhaskar and newcomer Shikha Talsania.
