New Delhi: Actress Sonakshi Sinha who has been quite absent from the silver screen for a while has signed Vipul Shah's Namastey England, opposite Akshay Kumar. Media reports say that the film will go on floors in August.
This will be the Sonakshi’s fifth outing with Khiladi Kumar. The couple has romanced each other in movies, Rowdy Rathore, Joker, Once Upon A Time in Mumbai Dobaara, Holiday. Sonakshi had also done a cameo in Akshay’s Oh My God!
Many might think that Namestey England would essentially be the second instalment of the Namastey franchise, a sequel to the hit movie of Akshay and Katrina Kaif, Namastey London.
But, Vipul has made it clear that this is not the case.
“We are currently in the pre-production stage. Let me make it clear that our film is not a sequel or a continuation of Namastey London (the 2007 romcom featuring Akki and Katrina Kaif).”

Speaking about Sonakshi’s role, Vipul said,
“Sonakshi will feature in a never-seen-before avatar.”
Vipul is confident that his next with Akshay will be a hit too.
“I am very excited to direct this film. Akshay and I have had the best run in the past, and I hope to continue that with this one.”
