Singer Aditya Narayan, son of popular playback singer Udit Narayan has been detained by Versova Police for rash driving and injuring two. The singer rammed into an auto-rickshaw at Andheri's Lokhandwala circle in which the driver and a passenger got injured.
Aditya has been booked under sections 338 and 279 Indian Penal Code for rash driving and causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety. The accident occurred when Aditya was taking a U-turn at the Lokhandwala circle in his Mercedes. Cops took Aditya for the medical examination and he was later granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 10,000. The auto rickshaw driver suffered head injuries and is currently in ICU. While, the passenger got her leg fractured.
''It’s a bailable offence. Aditya himself took the injured auto driver and the lady travelling in the auto to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri. The auto driver has severe head injuries and is in ICU while the lady fractured her leg and sustained few injuries on her back. Medical of Aditya is underway and we are doing our investigations in this matter,” Kiran Kale, Senior Inspector at Versova Police Station told Indiaexpress.com.
This is not Aditya's first brush with the law. Last year in October, he landed in soup for misbehaving with IndiGo staff member. According to the airline, Aditya refused to pay Rs 13,000 for the excess baggage he was carrying on the Raipur-Mumbai flight. Not only he refused but also used unparliamentary language with a female staff member. However, he apologised later.
