Kangana Ranaut's Simran which released on September 15 received mixed reviews from critics as well as audience. The movie which opened with a decent response minting Rs 2.77 cr on the first day gradually picke up the momentum over the weekend but saw a big dip on Monday. After a slow start, Simran raked in Rs 3.76 cr, and Rs 4.12 cr on Saturday and Sunday respectively. It was expected that the Hansal Mehta directorial won't get much viewers on the starting day of week. The rest of the weekdays look worrying for Simran. The total collection of Kangana’s film now stands at Rs 12.06 cr whereas the film is made on a budget of Rs 30 crore. If the film is able to bag collections over 30 crore, it will be a hit. Simran was fighting the box office battle with Farhan Akhtar starrer Lucknow Central. The total collection of Kangana’s film now stands at Rs 12.06 cr.

On the opening day of Simran, Filmmaker Hansal Mehta deleted his Twitter account and made the comeback hours later thanking viewers for the response. In his tweet he said "Thankful for both the love and criticism coming our way. Simran is an unconventional film about an unusual character. I'm very proud of it".

Kangana Ranaut made headlines after explosive interview in Aap Ki Adalat where she talked about how Aditya Pancholi mistreated her during her struggling days. Kangana’s shocking statements attracted lot of flak and applauses. However, an angry Aditya exploded and alleged that the Rangoon actress made false accusations and called her a ''mad'' girl and a ''liar''. Meanwhile, Aditya Pancholi and wife Zarina Wahab watched Simran and were all in praise for the actress. The celeb duo who was impressed with Kangana said, ''It is Kangana’s best performance till date.''

Next coming days are crucial for Simran as it will decide whether Simran will be Kangana's consecutive second flop or next hit after Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
