Simmba Box Office Collection: Will Sara Ali Khan, Ranveer Singh shatter box office records of 2018?

While Simmba is Sara Ali Khan’s second film this month, Ranveer Singh is returning to silverscreen after a gap of around a year. He was last seen as menacing Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat. In Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, the actor is playing the role of a corrupt cop who turns saint after a tragedy. With Simmba, Sara and Ranveer are romancing each other on screen for the first time. Now the question stands, whether this Rohit Shetty directorial shatter the records of his Golmaal franchise or not.

Simmba is releasing on December 28, just three days before year 2018 is ending. It is speculated that the box office numbers will be fair on Day 1 but they are expected to rise as it reaches Sunday, due to New Year’s eve and holiday season. Also, this Ranveer Singh starrer will thwart the box office collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero, which is already struggling in terms of numbers.

Simmba is a proper Rohit Shetty style commercial entertainer with hints of comedy, drama, romance and action. Talking about Shetty’s last offering Golmaal Again, which released around Diwali last year, opened to whopping number of Rs 30 crore at the box office. Simmba might not reach that pedestal in terms of opening numbers as it’s not a part of an already successful franchise. However, die-hard Rohit Shetty fans and the lovers of family entertainer are expected to flock the theatres in large numbers of December 28.
