Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan’s film Simmba, directed by Rohit Shetty is swiftly inching towards the Rs 100 crore club. The film which released on December 28 is doing quite well at the box office. Getting a solo release, Simmba managed to pull large number of people to theatres, citing holiday season. In just three days, the Rohit Shetty directorial crossed the Rs 50 crore at the box office. Now the cop drama is on a verge of entering the Rs 100 crore club.
Sharing the box office collection of Simmba on Twitter, trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, ‘#Simmba ends 2018 on a thunderous note... Records superb numbers on Mon [31 Dec]... Will continue its victory march today [1 Jan]... It’s #Simmba wave at the BO... Fri 20.72 cr, Sat 23.33 cr, Sun 31.06 cr, Mon 21.24 cr [better than Fri]. Total: ₹ 96.35 cr. India biz.’
Simmba, directed by Rohit Shetty, is the Hindi remake of famous South Indian film Temper. It is a cop drama which is based on a corrupt cop who gets back on the righteous path after his sister is raped and murder.

On the opening day itself, Simmba raked in Rs 20 crore at the box office becoming Ranveer Singh’s highest opener ever, defeating Padmaavat. Padmaavat made Rs 19 crore on its day 1. Simmba also marks Rohit Shetty’s eighth film to enter the coveted Rs 100 crore club. Last year, his release Golmaal Again also raked in Rs 200 crore at the Indian box office.
