A Gentleman features actors Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez. The scorching chemistry between the two actors is one of the reasons, people are looking forward to this film. Sid’s last movie Baar Baar Dekho couldn’t do wonders at the box office. Thus, it is yet to be seen if he manages to win hearts with A Gentleman. The first day collection of the film is out and A Gentleman: Sundar, Susheel, Risky has earned Rs 4.04 crore on its opening day.
Taking to Twitter Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said “#AGentleman Fri ₹ 4.04 cr. India biz”.
"Certain situations cannot be predicted -- heavy rainfall especially in key revenue pockets of Maharashtra and Rajasthan, coupled with theatre closures due to violence in North India held back our collections," Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox Star Studios, said in a statement.
"However, the word of mouth on the film is extremely encouraging and the film will see an upward trend in collections starting today (Saturday)," Singh added.
Earlier, there were speculation that this film is a sequel of Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif starrer "Bang Bang" and it will be named as "Bang Bang 2".But the director says that everything has been clarified."We clarified that it's not 'Bang Bang 2'. It was always a new film," he said in a recent interview.
Made on a budget of Rs. 50 crore including publicity and advertising, the film has earned Rs. 30 crore via satellite, music and digital media pre-release. Helmed by director duo Raj and DK, the film also features Darshan Kumar and Suniel Shetty.
