Shruti Haasan and Michael Corsale have reportedly called it quits after being in a relationship for over two years. A close friend of Shruti and Michael informed Mumbai Mirror that it was a mutual decision and they still care for each other. On the other hand, Corsale took to Instagram to share a picture of himself and Shruti. ''This young lady will always be my best mate. So grateful to always have her as a friend. Luv ya gal,'' he captioned. Soon after the post was published, Instagram users started commenting on it and asked the couple to be by each other's side. "I request you two to not break-up with each other... You both are my favourite couple in this world,'' wrote a concerned fan, while another wrote,'' you guys were good together''.
Shruti and Michael started being spotted together in 2016 and since their relationship rumours hit the town. It was last year when Shruti confessed being in love with Corsale. Sharing a romantic picture, she wrote, “everyday is an adventure with you @themichaelcorsale you’ve showed me what it means to have a best friend in your partner and a total nutter in your corner laughing, chatting and walking together”. However, now the post has reportedly been removed. Corsale was even spotted with Shruti's family at Tamil actor Aadhav Kannadasan and Vinodhnie Suresh's wedding. The source told Mumbai Mirror that they broke up a month ago."The decision was taken by mutual consent and there is no bad blood between the two. They continue to remain the best of friends and will always have each other’s back. They really respect and care for each other,'' the source informed. However, the reason behind their break-up remains under wraps. Reportedly, Shruti met Michael through a common friend in London back in 2016.
Recently, while talking to a leading daily, Shruti opened up about marriage and said, "The ramifications of marriage are different for me and other women. I am not getting married, and I have never been in a hurry to get married. I will enter wedlock whenever I feel like it. Right now, I am not even thinking about it. No relationship determines that you need to get married at a certain time."
On the professional front, Shruti and actor Vijay Sethupathi have collaborated for the first time in the upcoming Tamil film Laabam. Last seen in the 2017 Tamil actioner Singam 3, this will be Shruti's first Tamil outing in two years. The cast also includes Kalaiarasan and Jagapathi Babu.
