Television couple Shaleen Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur, who have been embroiled in an ugly divorce battle for almost a year now, has ended their relationship officially now.
The Bombay court dropped all the charges against Shaleen and gave him a clean chit. The decision has come as a sigh of relief for the actor, who was accused of dowry harassment, domestic violence and attempt to murder by now ex-wife Dalljiet.
Elated over the court’s decision Bhanot says that “I am a free man now”.
It wasn’t an easy phase for Shaleen and his family. The actor had confessed to a leading daily that he was appalled after Dalljiet made the horrific accusations against him, following which he refrained himself from meeting people.
However, he is relieved that the unbearable pain has finally come to an end.
Shaleen had met Dalljiet during the shooting of their serial ‘Kulvaddhu’, which was aired on Sony TV in 2006. The couple hit out instantly and fell in love on the sets.
Shaleen and Dalljiet also made an appearance on dance based reality show ‘Nach Baliye 4’ and got hitched in December 2009.
However, their relationship hit a rocky patch soon after their wedding as Shaleen’s mother was reportedly not happy with gifts they received from Dalljiet’s family. In fact, Dalljiet had also alleged that Bhanot had beaten her during the early stages of pregnancy and even tried strangulating her.
The couple also has a two and half year old son Jaydon.
Speaking about his son, Shaleen said that he would maintain a cordial relationship with ex-wife post divorce just for the sake of his son.
“I want a well-balanced childhood for my son. He should get both his parents’ love and so, for his well-being, I will always be cordial with Dalljiet”, Shaleen added.
On the other hand, Dalljiet too had stated earlier that she won’t mind Shallen meeting their son as long as he stands true to the responsibilities of a father.
Dalljiet Kaur had recently surprised everyone with her sterling transformation as she revealed her bold and sexy avatar.
Currently, the actress is busy shooting for her show ‘Kaala Teeka’ which is aired on Zee TV.
