Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, whose forthcoming movie ‘Raees’ has been besieged with controversy for a while now owing to Indo-Pak disputes, is planning a grand trailer launch for the film.
Unlike other celebs, who prefer to attach the trailer of their respective movies with the release of a big budget movie, SRK might release the trailer of ‘Raees’ on his 51st birthday on November 2.
While the superstar reportedly expects the trailer to have a better response if released on his special day, it is being said there are two major reasons for King Khan to unveil the trailer on his birthday.
Apparently, Khan and co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani doesn’t want a clash with the trailer of Hrithik Roshan starrer ‘Kaabil’ which will be released with ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ on October 28.
Interestingly, ‘Raees’ and ‘Kaabil’ will have a big clash at the box office in 2017 as both the movies are scheduled to release on January 26.
On the other hand, the ‘Dilwale’ actor is also concerned about the trailer release of Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ which will be out around Diwali this year.
We all know that superstar Aamir is a master of marketing strategies. Moreover the buzz around ‘Dangal’ is far more than that for ‘Raees’, which is a matter of concern for SRK.
So in order to avoid ‘Raees’ trailer getting overshadowed by the trailers of ‘Dangal’ and ‘Kaabil’, Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly planning to release it a couple of days later.
The industry reports suggest that Shah Rukh will hold a special screening for the media personnel on his birthday before releasing it on social media.
A screening of ‘Raees’ trailer will also be held during his birthday party at ‘Mannat’ for the guests.
As per media reports, the lead actress of ‘Raees’ Mahira Khan will not be attending the grand trailer launch, owing the escalating tensions between Indian and Pakistan.
Post the highly criticised Uri attacks killing 18 Indian soldiers, Indian Motion Picture Producers Association (IMPPA) has ostracized Pakistani artists in India.
The IMPPA’s decision came after Raj Thackeray led MNS threatened the Pakistani artists to leave India within 48 hours. In fact, MNS also warned Karan Johar and Shah Rukh Khan over the release of their movies ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ and ‘Raees’ respectively, as both features Pakistani artists.
