New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan seems to be having a tough time with his forthcoming movie ‘Raees’. The movie which has been the talk of the town since its inception, has been struggling to get that perfect release date.
A lot of speculations were made saying that the movie will release beside Salman Khan’s ‘Sultan’ making it the biggest clash of 2016.
However, SRK has averted this clash as the release of ‘Raees’ has been postponed and will now release on January 26, 2017.
SRK and the film’s makers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani issued a joint statement formally announcing the new release date of Raees and said, “It was not an easy decision to move the film. However, a movie of such magnitude requires the appropriate showcasing and, therefore, we have decided to shift our release date to January 26, 2017.”
But, now the King Khan starrer will be facing another clash, this time with Hrithik Roshan’s ‘Kaabil’. Although, there had been reports that the ‘Dilwale’ actor had met Hrithik in order to persuade him to postpone the release of ‘Kaabil’.
“SRK and Hrithik had met to discuss the release, but ultimately, it’s the call of the makers. Rakesh Roshan has decided to not shift the release date. But he is very upset that Raees is also releasing on the same date. He even called up Ritesh Sidhwani on Monday afternoon to express the same and on Tuesday when the announcement came in the newspapers, he was pretty irked,” a source reportedly told an entertainment portal.
But when Rakesh Roshan, who is producing ‘Kaabil’, was quizzed about this box-office clash, he gave a rather surprising reaction.
“No one approached me, my release date was announced in February this year for 26th January 2017 and I am sticking to it. Who comes or who doesn’t is not my problem,” Rakesh was quoted saying.
Well, looks like Rakesh Roshan is not much pleased with Shah Rukh Khan releasing ‘Raees’ with ‘Kaabil’.
