New Delhi: Actor Shahid Kapoor is in a happy space these days. On the professional front his movie ‘Udta Punjab’ enabled him get rave reviews from viewers and critics alike and on the personal front he is all set to enter a new phase. His wife Mira Rajput is pregnant and he is obviously excited.
Amidst all these good news, there is someone in the Kapoor family who is confused. And that person is none other than Shahid’s father actor filmmaker Pankaj Kapoor. The reason, for his confusion, is Shahid’s performance in movies.
Now, you may be wondering why is this the case given Shahid’s stellar performances lately. As it happens, these spectacular performances are the ones which have troubled Pankaj as he cannot decide whether he liked his son more in ‘Haider’ or ‘Udta Punjab’.

A statement by Shahid’s spokesperson was quoted by a leading daily as, ““After watching the film, Pankaj came out debating over which character has he liked more between Haider and Tommy Singh. Shahid curiously even asked as to which character does he prefer more. After taking a long pause, Pankaj still couldn’t decide on which character to pick as being an actor himself he has loved both his characters.”
And this reply from Pankaj elated Shahid, reportedly. The report in the leading daily further quoted the source as, “Shahid often waits for his father’s opinions on his films. He was a little nervous about how his father would like him in this film as it is a very different kind of role. He was thrilled to see Pankaj’s response.”
Well, by the way Shahid’s career graph is going we are sure that Pankaj would be thinking himself as a proud father.
