Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero is 10th highest grossing film of 2018 globally

Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma starrer Zero may have not fared impressively at the domestic box office, but the Aanand L Rai directorial is doing wonders at the international box office. The movie which also had Katrina Kaif in a crucial role had all the bearings to typical Bollywood rom-com, fresh concept and the trailer also did well among the audience, however, the film wasn’t as grand as it was expected to be. Despite the lukewarm reception of the film in the country, this Shah Rukh Khan starrer becomes the 10th most grossing film of 2018 globally. Here’s how.

According to a Box Office India report, Shah Rukh Khan and Anushka Sharma’s Zero has crossed the international figures of Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree by earning Rs 178 crore. On the other hand, Rohit Shetty directorial Simmba, which had Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles, became the third highest grossing film of 2015 with collection more than Rs 300 crore.

Zero: Manmarziyaan writer Kanika Dhillon calls Shah Rukh Khan starrer one of the most important films of 2018

Here is the list of top 10 highest grossing films of 2018

Sanju - Rs 578 crore

Padmaavat - Rs 546 crore

Simmba - Rs 310 crore (10 Days)

Race 3 - Rs 306 crore

2.0 (Hindi) - Rs 269 crore (still running)

Baaghi 2 - Rs 249 crore

Not only this, Thugs of Hindostan and Race 3 which were not received well by the critics also made place for themselves in the list. Thugs of Hindostan was declared a dud at the domestic box office and it also failed to do wonders at the Chinese box office where it released in December last year.

On the work front, Shah Rukh Khan will begin working on Rakesh Sharma biopic Salute soon, which is helmed by Kabir Khan.
